A Night in New York Auction Update

 

Get Ready for Rancho’s fundraising event of the year!

March 11th

 

Every year the Rancho Romero auction and dinner is a highlight for parents and teachers alike. Not only is it fun, it is vital to meeting Rancho Romero Education Fund’s annual fundraising goal. The event is responsible for raising approximately 30% of RREF’s current budget -- money that pays for important programs for our kids like Para Educators, technology (programs, staff and equipment), reading specialists, art, music, library, expanded science programs, and others. 

 

 

Mark your calendars for these important dates:

 

Jan 24th – Event Tickets go on sale at 6am

Jan 25th – Premium Wine Drop & Coffee Swap at the Maita Home 107 Muir Lane – 7:45-9:00am

Feb 28th – Online Auction opens and party sign-ups begin

Mar 9th – Online Auction ends at 10pm

Mar 11th – A Night in New York Event  ~ 5:30pm – 11pm with cocktails, dinner, live auction, raffles and games, and dancing

 

 

In addition to purchasing your tickets on January 24th there are several ways to support the auction:

 

  • Please Donate Wine!  We are looking for premium wine ($35+ retail value per bottle) for our Wine Raffle and Premium Wine Bar. Last year’s auction wine sales generated nearly $10,000 for RREF! Maybe you have a wine collection or a connection to a winery? Possibly you are going grocery shopping and feel like cruising down the wine aisle? No matter the reason, contact Lindsay Roskovensky at Lindsay@rjrpartners.com or stop by the wine drop on January 24th if you’d like to make a difference and donate a bottle (or two)! Red, white, champagne…the choice is yours! 

 

Wine Drop for Coffee Swap on Wednesday, January 25th: simply swing by the Maita home at 107 Muir Lane on Wednesday January 25th to drop off your wine donation and pick up a cup of hot coffee. We will be collecting wine from 7:45 – 9:00am

 

Are you a member of a wine club? Ask if they’ll make a donation as well!

  • Sign up for a Party!  Hosted parties are always BIG sellers in the auction. You will soon be able to sign up for several fun events such as a 70’s WIG party, Dad’s Day Downtown and School’s out Backyard Campout.

 

  • Donate an auction item! Can you help the Donations team by donating an auction item? Vacation home, hotel points, air miles, restaurants, tickets to sporting events, spa treatments… help us build a stellar online and live auction! We are listening to past years feedback and are continuing to streamline our Auction in an effort to lighten the jobs for our volunteers. We will not have a silent auction, Kidz parties, class art projects or class baskets this year. We hope you will continue your generous support through the above listed opportunities.

Family Donations

 

Rancho Romero Education Fund (RREF) would like to say THANK YOU! to all the generous families who were able to participate in our Family Donations drive during registration.  Your financial contribution funds programs at Rancho that the government and/or school crict does not, including: a technology teacher, librarian, reading specialists, science, music and art, in-classroom para-educators, training materials, classroom technology, and much more. 

 

To fund these programs, RREF budgeted to raise $186,000 through Family Donations for the 2016-17 school year. Through the participation of nearly 70% of our community, Family Donations have currently brought in more than $165,000.

 

WE ARE SO CLOSE TO OUR GOAL!!!

 

Despite registration being officially closed, families may still donate HERE by signing in to your Rancho Future Fund account.

 

If just 32 more families contribute the suggested donation of $650 per student, we will attain our goal! 

Please know that while we suggest a $650 donation per student, we strive for 100% family participation.  ANY AMOUNT you can donate is greatly appreciated. In order to fund our programs and staff each year, our RREF budget equates to approximately $920 per student per year.  Your Family Donation goes straight to the educational programs, staff, and resources that are vital to the success of our children. EVERY little bit makes a DIFFERENCE!  

 

How do we make-up the difference, you ask?  One of the ways is through Corporate Matching.  Did you know that numerous employers offer community giving benefits to their employees? This often includes a dollar for dollar match of financial donations to qualified non-profits (which we are!).  You can double your donation to Rancho by simply taking a few extra minutes from your day and filling out the necessary paperwork on your company's intranet site or contact your employer's HR department.  Questions?  We're here to help at ranchomatchinggifts@gmail.com.

 

 

Corporate Matching

 

Companies big, small, and everything in between, match donations made by employees to non-profit organizations, including the Rancho Romero Education Fund.  Many donations to Rancho can be doubled by corporate matching programs! We count on this funding annually!  Please take the five extra minutes it takes to apply to your company for a matching gift of your donation to RREF.

RREF would like to recognize the ongoing support from Andrea Scott of Alain Pinel Realtors through Save CA Schools.  Andrea Scott has donated over $21K since 2014 and is continuing to support our school!!!  Thank you, Andrea, for your support of Rancho Romero!

 

Here’s how Save CA Schools works: When buying or selling a house, real estate professionals, who are members of SaveCASchools.org, donate a percentage of their commission to the non profit organization. In doing so, they are showing their commitment to our community and our children’s educational future.

 

 

Camp Rancho

 

Camp Rancho was an amazing success this year bringing in almost $14K!  We could not have made it happen without everyone’s help!  These funds directly impact programs and staff support that impact Rancho students on a daily basis.  

Thank you to all of the parents, staff, Stone Valley Middle School and San Ramon Valley High School helpers and community vendors who helped make the evening such a fun event for the students.  We had over 200 students participate and are so grateful for all of the help and support we had for the event. 

A HUGE thank you to:  Rachel Olin for all of her planning to make the event possible, Nicole Shay for helping organize and coordinate, Mandy Theissan for coordinating dinner, Natalie Ard and Jill Carlstrom for planning the 5th Grade Amazing Race, East West Kung Fu (which is right here in Alamo) for their amazing demonstration as part of the Ninjago Camp, Danielle John owner of Pots and Paints for a wonderful Art Camp and Kim Thompson for being the teacher liaison again this year and coordinating all of the staff help that night.   

We also want to thank PizzaGuys in Danville for giving us a very generous discount on the pizzas and Alamo Safeway for a great discount on the apples served with dinner.

200+ kids after school hours is never an easy task.  Without the teachers on site along with Mrs. Larsh, Tatiana, Kathy and Sarah, the evening would not have been possible.

Fund-A-Need

Each year our school has a “Fund-A-Need” drive at the close of our Live Auction. When you see this stamp in the books your child brings home from school, please know that book was purchased through the 2016 Auction Literacy Fund-A-Need.  Thank you for your generosity!

 

 

 

 

 

 

Roadrunner Cup Golf Tournament

 

Planning for our 3rd annual golf tournament is in full swing, with a budget of $17,000.  Please contact Nicole Beaumont at N_Beaumont@ymail for more information OR to get involved.  Save the date for the 3rd Annual Roadrunner Golf Tournament at Diablo Country Club on May 15th, 2017!  

 

 

Are you a numbers person?  

 

RREF is looking for a "Treasurer in Training" to fill our Treasurer position for next year.  Anyone interested can contact Le Chu at ledao@me.com for more information.

 

RREF is also looking for an Auditor.  This position is a small, yet important role, taking about 2-3 weeks of your time in the Fall.  For more information contact Alyse Townsend at alysemtownsend@gmail.com.
