Dear Rancho Romero Staff and Parents/Guardians,

Tomorrow the Ranch Romero Staff returns for our 2017-2018 Staff Development Day.  Synergy is the theme of our 2017-2018 academic school year. The definition of Synergy is the interaction or cooperation of two or more organizations or other agents to produce a combined effect greater than the sum of their separate effects.  How does this apply to Rancho Romero? Our teachers, staff, administration, parent community and district will produce an education grander for your child than we could as separate entities. How will we accomplish Synergy?

This year our teachers and staff will be trained in Mindfulness by Alan Isbell. Teachers will then incorporate Mindfulness into their classroom with the intention of providing students with tools to balance and focus their energy in order to learn at their highest ability. Additionally, Soul Shoppe, a school wide character building program will be introduced to staff and students in coordinated Workshops and Classroom visits. Later in the year, Soul Shoppe will train a few of our Fifth-grade students in becoming Peacemakers. Please join the Rancho Romero parent community on Thursday, August 31st at 6:00 PM for a Parent Information Night.

For our incoming Kindergartener and new families, I look forward to joining you at Hap Magee Park Sunday, August 13th for an afternoon playdate and social.

Mark your calendars for Back to School Night, August 23, 2017. Our teachers have set aside time to introduce themselves to you and provide a cursory overview of their curriculum and program.  We are hoping for high participation because the home to school relationship is critical in the lives of our youngest learners. The times are as follows:

TK, K, 1st, 2nd(5:30 PM – 6:15 PM)

Principal’s Message & Introduction of PTA and RREF Presidents (6:15 PM – 6:45 PM)

3rd, 4th, 5th (6:55 PM – 7:40 PM)

I look forward to meeting your children on August 14th and thank you for the privilege of working at Rancho Romero Elementary School.

Go Road Runners!
