Principal's Report August 29, 2017
Posted by: Sandy Kontilis Published: 8/29/17

Dear Rancho Romero Community,

Thank you for the abundant turn-out and support of your student by attending our Back to School Night. Teachers were delighted to give a brief overview of their plans for the school year. They also spoke to the common assessments being administered through this week and the critical information gleaned through data analysis. As I mentioned on Back to School Night, please give your teachers time to administer assessments, analyze results, and build important relationships with your student. It’s a collective responsibility of your child’s teacher, grade team, and admin to determine essential skills to be learned, the development of critical thinking and evaluative skills, and the strengthening of soft skills such as communication and empathy.

This week Soul Shoppe begins its Workshops. Our TK/Kinder will be first on the list to learn common language and tools to use towards being a good citizen on our campus. Please join Soul Shoppe for the Parent Night on 9/11/2017 in the MUR (6:00-7:30).

Speaking of Parent Information Night, this Thursday, August 31st, Stone Valley Middle School is hosting a Parent Community night with our school district’s Superintendent, Rick Schmitt. Stone Valley has extended the invitation to us, Montair, and Alamo Elementary School’s to begin a book study, The Gift of Failure by Jessica Lahey. Please check out Rancho’s Website for the details. Rancho Romero Website

The SRVEF’s Run for Education is slated for October 1st. Please join students, families, and teachers from our district for this fun run and important fundraiser. Our school directly benefits from SRVEF. Here is the link:Facebook.com/srvefTheRun/

Wishing everyone a wonderful week and a great three-day weekend.
