Library Rules

  • Walk, please! (For everyone’s safety, no running, jumping, or playing chase.)

  • Leave your food and drinks outside.

  • Remember to use your inside “library” voice, not your outside “playground” voice.

  • Keep your hands and feet to yourself.

  • Be respectful and considerate of everyone and everything in the library.

  • Let others listen, read, or work without being distracted by your actions.

  • Please use a shelf marker while browsing. Help keep books where they belong.

  • Return books on time. (See circulation policies & procedures below.)

  • Handle books with care. If a book is lost or damaged beyond repair you will be charged the replacement cost.

  • Computers are to be used according to the “Student Acceptable Use Policy for District Digital Network.”

  • All books are due the next week. Any book that is needed for longer can be renewed if the student has the book in their possession—otherwise, the book will be considered overdue.
  • K–1st grades may check out 1 book per week.
  • 2nd–5th grades may check out 2 books per week.
  • If a student forgets to bring back their book(s) to return or renew, then they will not be able to check out a book.
  • Books that are more than a month overdue will be considered lost and you will be charged the replacement cost.
